Spring/Summer Inspired Theatrical Makeup Look- Flowers & Creatures- Face paint 

Hey Everyone,

I am extremely happy with how this makeup look came out. I really wanted to create something around the idea of exotic flowers and insects, I love the effect the dragon fly gives as the different shades of blue within the dragon fly really create a nice contrast in comparison to the rich, warm colours of the two flowers. I used a thin paint brush and created brisk strokes to convey the leaf/stalk splurging out from the flowers, for this I just used three different shades of green paint; a light, medium and dark tone. The paints I used for this look were the Snazaroo water based face & body paints. I really do recommend Snazaroo to anyone as they are cheap and such amazing quality (around £3.00 per paint). You can be as creative as you want with this look, you could always change the style of flower or choose to paint a different insect.. a lady bird or bumble bee for example. I think this look is super pretty for a summer fancy dress party!

Hey everyone,

One of my favourite makeup looks to create is a Skull. You can really make a Skull look into your own personalised creation as you can be so versatile and creative with it. Some people may think because you are creating a skull it has to be classical black & white but I love incorporating colour and making a bold, bright creation. With this look there is the illusion of the high cheek-bones which have the effect of an evident severe structure as if they are sticking out of the face. This is achieved by using the dark, matte black paint where the hollows of your cheeks lay and then applying a light paint directly above; acting as a highlight. The shape the cheek bones are structured (an almost rounded look) gives more definition. One of my top tips is to make sure with the eyes you line the bottom waterline with a black eyeliner, as when left the waterline breaks the realism of the deep, hollow, black skull eyes. All that I used for this look is Snazaroo face paints in a selection of bright, vibrant colours and a variety of shaped paint brushes. You can use any sort of colours you like. Where you apply the bright colours you do not have to be really precise as it just quick swipes of the paint brush.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to talk about a Yankee candle I bought the other day at Clinton's for only £9.99! It was on a special offer and for a medium size jar that is pretty reasonable, usually medium jars are £16.99. I absolutely love it when Yankee brings out their Christmas candles, even more so when they bring out new christmas scents. I saw this one on the shelf and it immediately caught my eye as it is a beautiful deep red colour, which already screams Christmas, and when I saw that the scent was Peppermint I was overjoyed. I am not a fan of extremely sweet, sickly smells so something as refreshing and crisp as Peppermint would definitely rock my boat. Of course, the same with any Yankee candle, as soon as I lit it my whole room filled with a gorgeous, irresistible Peppermint swirl which was also a lot like candy canes. I felt so festive and Christmasy with my candle lit, nothing beats a good old Yankee candle in the winter. I would 100% recommend this candle, especially if you are like me and do not like over powering sickly smells.. such as Christmas Cookie.  The best way I can describe this scent is as if you are walking into a gingerbread house, for some reason it reminds me of the amazing Hansel & Gretel Sweet House! Black & White Skull - Theatrical Makeup

Black & White Skull- Theatrical Makeup

Hey everyone,

I genuinely should be awarded worst blogger award recently as I really have not written a post in ages... Over a month to be exact! A lot has been going on recently but as we are now coming up to the Christmas period I am hoping to be blogging a lot more, both makeup looks and Christmas related posts. So I am starting off with a look which I created yesterday. I never tend to plan the look I am going to do, sometimes it would probably be best if I did plan what I am going to do but then other times looks I have not planned really pay off and turn out great. In mind I knew I wanted to create a sort of skeleton/dark skull themed look. This is how the look came out. I decided to use a bald cap as I wanted the skull to look really realistic and life-like. The bald cap I used was Charlie Short's handmade bald caps (also known as PinkStylist on YouTube).   This look is pretty straight forward, although if you are not used to applying a bald cap it can be quite tricky. All I used was a Snazaroo white face paint, Snazaroo black face paint and a black eyeliner. It really just consists of shading and highlighting certain areas to create different dimensions. After creating just a classical black and white skull I wanted to experiment a little and thought I would create a wound on the centre of the forehead. To do this I dabbed a layer of liquid latex with a pointed sponge along the centre of the forehead and then placed down a thin layer of tissue. I repeated this process about 4 times until a thick raised platform was created, which also gave the illusion of the eyes looking a lot deeper. I then just picked at the tissue and liquid latex to create a deep hole in which I then filled with black, red and purple lipstick to create a sore cut. Finally, I added some fake blood to the inside and around the wound. I also dabbed some blood round the mouth area & on the chest.

Hey everyone,

So to say that I struggled with naming this makeup look would most definitely be an understatement. I wanted to create something different and unique so I just kept on adding things as I went along. There was certainly no sort of plan or structure to this look. As my last Halloween look was more gory and creepy I wanted to do something a bit more girlie and colourful. I am really happy with how the look came out. I definitely think the huge feather lashes and the dark blue spots over the cheeks and neck complete the look. A wig really is optional with this makeup but I will add pictures of it with both. The ,makeup looks more dark and spooky with the black wig so perfect for Halloween. 

I really want to get back into filming my Theatrical Makeup Tutorials again on Youtube, especially now it is Halloween time I want to do a load of different Halloween looks. Hey everyone,

First of all I apologise for the lack of blog posts recently. I have been super busy with work and a-levels but I really want to get back into blogging religiously especially as it is now coming up to Halloween I will be doing a lot of Makeup Looks. So I wanted to do something very gory and creepy. I had no sort of plan or intention of what I wanted this look to turn out like so I just went with it and I ended up with this bloody, zombie like mess! I had fun doing this look and of course it is perfect for a Halloween party, perhaps a Fright Night or even trick-or-treating. This look does not need any sort of expensive costume, I would just wear a plain white t-shirt, cover it in fake blood and scruff up my hair. To achieve this dead looking skin colour I just used a Snazaroo white face paint and did a lot of shading and conturing with a black eyeshadow. The cuts and slashes on the face were created by using liquid latex, tissue and black & red lipsticks. I also used some brown paint and then wet, dripping fake blood.

EYLURE London 'Cheryl No.114' False Eyelashes- Review

Hey everyone,

I have to say I have always been a massive fan of false eyelashes. I just think they really can transform a makeup look and are so nice to add a bit of glamour to an evening outfit. I will only ever wear them if I am going out to a party or if it is a special occasion as they can sometimes get quite irritating and when you don't wear them regularly they can feel heavy on the eyes. My number one tip is to definitely make sure you have cut them to the size of your eye instead of leaving them and then they are too long. When they are too big for your eyes it they will irritate the corner of your eyes and they also just do not look as effective. EYLURE have always been my trust-worthy reliable false eyelash brand I go to. I first got a pair as a present a few years ago and since then I do not really buy my eyelashes from any other brand (except MAC occasionally). Such good quality eyelashes for the price, and they come with glue. You can get EYLURE in Superdrug and Boots. This 'Girls Aloud Range' for EYLURE has been quite popular and all of their lashes are really pretty. I went for these Cheryl ones as they were the most natural and I wanted a pair of lashes that weren't too thick or long. 

  I was so so pleased with the result. They are the perfect lashes if you want something a bit more subtle and light. If you put these on properly, you really do not realise they are there. EYLURE lashes are very fragile, I found especially with these ones as they are super light and the individual lashes are very thin. In this case be super careful when first trying to get them out the packet. I tend to try and pull them to hard and sometimes it can cause the lashes to point a different way or cause a gap. My best advice would be to get a pair of tweezers and slowly pull from one end of the strip. It is up to you but you can either wear eye-liner with these or leave them on their own. I like to pair my BOURJOIS Felt-tip eyeliner pen with these as it creates a nice look. These were priced at £5.49. I would definitely say they are worth the money.. I mean MAC charge £10 for their lashes, and to me they both look as nice on. The only thing I would say is that these particular lashes are so fragile that I don't think they will stay perfect for long, so not the most re-usable ones I have purchased. 

                          These lashes are on sale at the moment in Superdrug for only £3.66!

Halloween Theatrical Makeup- Oriental Chinese Warrior Girl

Hey everyone,

So it is now only 44 days till Halloween, although that is still over a month away it will go super quick. I love Halloween. The night in general but also the build up to it is great. I have always really enjoyed watching YouTubers Halloween makeup tutorials or looking at pictures of Halloween makeup looks so I thought considering I love both Halloween and theatrical makeup I would create a little series of Halloween makeup looks. I want to try and make them all as versatile as possible. Halloween isn't just about creepy, gory looks, you can have fun and create a pretty & girly character if you wanted to. I am starting this series now so that there will be plenty of Halloween looks for you guys to be inspired by and if you want to recreate a look you will have plenty of time to get the products needed and costume. So I am starting with quite an unusual look today. Since I was a little girl I have always loved the film Mulan so this was definitely an inspiration. I had no idea what I was going to do with this look so I literally made it up as I went along and this is the final result. I am really happy with it. It is quirky and different. I also love using a variety of colour.
