Skull Makeup

Skull Makeup

Hey Everyone,

Today was the big day of the performance of 'Lizzie Borden' and after I performed I got asked by friends to do their makeup. I did a dark, skeleton on Millie and a bright sugar skull on Isabel.

I also did a cracked china doll look on my best friend Elena. I absolutely love it; especially the way I have shaped and structured the eyebrows as they fake a sad expression, which was one of my main intentions when creating this look. This look is the same as the post I put up yesterday but I thought I would add this picture because I really do like it. In my opinion the same makeup look can look completely different on each individual person.

I hope you all like the three different looks!

Creepy Cracked Doll Makeup

Creepy Cracked Doll Makeup

Hey everyone,

Tomorrow I am performing 'Lizzie Borden' for my drama GCSE and I have been given the job to do my groups makeup which I am happy about as I really enjoy doing it anyway. I found myself practising a few different makeup looks tonight and I am really happy with how this one turned out. In my group and I's performance we use the sentence 'cracked her head like a china cup' quite repetitively so I wanted to create a white face to represent 'white china' and then the black eyeliner from Barry M was used for the cracks in the china. I was debating on whether to use dramatic fake eyelashes but I think the eyes look a lot more sore and dead left with drawn on eyelashes. I think the smudged lipsticks looks really effective as it could represent Lizzie constantly rubbing and itching her face because of her anxious and erotic personality. This makeup look can still be used for many other events such as halloween, a fancy dress party or even another play. My group and I are having our hair slicked back in high messy ponytails all backcombed, paired with red ribbon tied in our hair to signify blood. Of course though if you was just going for a 'dead doll' character you would keep the hair more to something like plaits.

If you have any questions about this looks please leave me a comment!

Winter Beauty Favourites

Winter Beauty Favourites

Hey everyone,

So from Summer to Winter I definitely change the products I use and personally I have always preferred the makeup looks and products that come with Autumn/Winter time. Winter is all about the dark, warm shades which suit my skin tone well. I love all the rich burgundy's and coppers; a lot of shimmery products are brought to the shelves which I adore as it just makes makeup christmasy and festive. I am a big fan of the dark lip so for Winter it's a must that I own a dark red, brown or purple lipstick. I like a nice glow to the face and body in Winter so I am always using a bit of bronzer or some sort of highlight & contour. Although I do love my Lauren's Way fake tan which I once did a review on, in Winter time my skin gets quite dry so I find using a gradual tan which is also a moisturiser works wonders. I always find myself doing a really dark, smokey eye in winter for special occasions so I gather together a little collection of dark eyeshadows I like. Having christmasy nails is a must during winter, I love wearing nail varnish with glitter in. Or just nail varnishes that are festive like colours. I get really dry and sometimes  quite sore lips in Winter so it is vital that I have a lip balm on me, carmex is my personal favourite. In Winter time you can get away with having full on shimmery eyes and a dark lip, that's what I love!

Accessorize Makeup Review

Accessorize Makeup Review

Hey Everyone,

I have never been a big fan of the store 'Accessorize'. I am not keen on big, blingy jewellery and just never have tended to shop in there a lot. I was in Superdrug today and came across the Accessorize makeup section. I thought I would just take a look and see what their products were like and I am really glad I did. They have such beautiful makeup pieces, with such a gorgeous selection of colours. Even though the packaging looks a bit childish with the butterflies and colourful flowers the quality of the makeup is amazing for the price you are paying. Everything is so highly pigmented, especially the eyeshadows. They have a lot of sparkle and shimmer to their products which is why everything is so pretty to look at, but they do have a selection of matte products as well. I picked up their 32 shade eye palette in 'Exposed'. When I opened the lid I automatically fell in love with it. It is a palette full of neutral and darker shades which come in a variety of matte and shimmery textures. Unfortunately each eyeshadow doesn't have a name but the colours are so cute and wearable.

The pigmentation of the eyeshadows are of such high quality, even the lightest shades. I also picked up a Baked trio eyeshadow in the shade 'The Good & The Bad'. I love the fact that you get two warm colours combined with a cooler colour. Again really highly pigmented and apply really well onto the eye. Last but not least I picked up a Baked bronzer duo, in shade 2. On the left hand side you get a light brown bronzer with a hint of shimmer, then on the right hand side you get what I would call a blush. It is a stunning copper colour with white shimmer, far too sparkly for a bronzer. All lovely colours for Winter/Christmas time. The last thing I own from Accessorize makeup is not something I bought myself, I got given it as a gift. It is one of their Merged Eyeshadows in shade 'Cocoa'. I use this for the occasional smokey eye, and it looks wonderful. The 32 Shade Eye Palette is priced at £8.95, the Baked Trio Eyeshadow is priced at £5.95 and the Baked Bronzer Duo is also priced at £5.95. The Merged Eyeshadow is priced at £3.95. For what you are getting the pricing is extremely reasonable and I urge everyone to go and try some products from their makeup brand.

Have you got any products you love from Accessorize Makeup?

Tartan Staples- Winter Fashion

Tartan Staples- Winter Fashion

Hey Everyone,

Today I took a trip to the shops and fell in love with these two tartan pieces which are a MUST for your winter wardrobe. They are both from Topshop and I think they are perfect for this time of year, especially considering Tartan is so in at the moment and is basically in every fashion magazine I have read this month. The first item I picked up was a Check Split Back Tee which is priced at £36.00. Although it is on the pricey side for a t-shirt/blouse I really do love the colour as it isn't the traditional red or green tartan. The navy with the mustard yellow really compliment each other and create a really unique tartan tee. I also love the split in the back as it just adds a little extra and it is a really flattering style fit. I would say it would suit a lot of body shapes. The second item I picked up was a block checked scarf which is priced at £14.00. It is so thick and snug, great for this cold weather at the moment. Because the colours of the scarf are dark it is really versatile and easy to wear. I have seen so many people wearing tartan scarfs at the moment so I thought I had to pick one up. I really do adore Topshop's winter clothes this year, in my view they have defiantly outdone a lot of shops.

Of course on my shopping trip I had to pop into Starbucks and treat myself. Look how           delicious that Chocolate Swirl looks, most definitely recommend it everyone!

Skull Makeup- Skeletons- Sugar Skull

Skull Makeup- Skeletons- Sugar Skull

Hey Everyone,

Tonight I thought I would experiment with my makeup kit on my best friend and little brother and I found myself creating two skull looks. The one I did on Elena was more of a Mexican/Sugar Skull and the one I did on my little brother billy was a more traditional skeleton. I am really happy with how they turned out and if you have any questions on what products I used or how I applied them just leave me a comment and I will happily answer it!
